Day 64

Well it looks like out luck with the weather has finally run out. Germany is now absolutely freezing! Last night the wind and rain were so bad that the camper was shaking and we had to have 2 blankets in bed. This morning the camper was so cold that you could see your breath!

For the past couple of days we have been by the Chiemsee lake. Owing to the poor weather though we have spent much of it in bed watching films. Prior to chiemsee, we visited garmisch-partenkirchen and grainau which thankfully were still blessed with lovely weather. We visited lake eibsee and went for walks round the rivers and in the woods.

One of the most unique places we have visited in Germany so far is Oberammergau. It is a small ski resort town and all the houses are painted!

On one of the first days in Germany we visited the most famous castle in the country; Neuschwanstein castle. It was the inspiration for sleeping beauty's castle in the Disney films and it's easy to see why! We didn't pay to go in but we walked around the grounds and hiked up the mountain next to it in order to get a good view.

Amongst the autumn leaves the castle looked incredible!

In the past couple of days we have also found the joys of Lidl and Aldi... a comment I never thought would come out of my mouth. The food bill has been cut by a quarter, and they have excellent cookies.

In the next couple of days we head to Munich where we are planning to go to a huge night time flea market and then on to Nuremberg to visit some Nazi history sites, and then finally Berlin to see my dad! I'm so excited to get to see him.
