It’s Freezing Out. Here’s Where to Get Your Faux Fur Fix
Temperatures are set to sink to below freezing over the coming weeks, so I’m reaching for some faux fur to keep cosy in the cold. Faux hats, scarves and coats are some of the pieces I’m lusting over this winter, and from some amazing British brands too. Here’s where to get your faux fur fix.
Charlotte Simone
Specialising in faux fur accessories, Charlotte Simone aimed to ‘reinvent the scarf’ with her renowned popsicle fur scarf. After generating media and celebrity interest in 2014 after the release of her bon bon bag in collaboration with Kyle De’volle, Charlotte’s designs have been worn by fashion favourites such as Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller. I love the fluffy pink bag. 4-year old me would be infatuated with it. However, I’d definitely look like a bit silly wearing it. Nonetheless, I still want it all these years later. It’s one of those designer bags that’s always stuck in my mind.
For the colder weather, the bag won’t provide any warmth, even though it is beautiful, so I’m looking at the plush faux princess collar. The khaki colour would look great layered over a loose fit leather jacket, or a tailored coat.
Emma Brewin
Fur hats are a huge yes in my books, and Brit designer Emma Brewin has a collection of beautiful faux ones that are perfect for helping keep warm in winter. From berets to oversized brim hats, the fur pieces are statement, and stylish. Pair with laid-back longline wool coats and chunky boots for a cosy winter look. With Iris Law and Miley Cyrus as supporters, this fabulous female designer is one to keep an eye on.
Cloud Bucket £285.
Jakke
With a huge up to 50% off sale currently on, this London-based faux fur brand is one you simply have to check out. Temperatures are going to keep plummeting, and with a sale this good, now is the perfect time to pick up a new coat, and at a fraction of the price. I seriously can’t pick which style of theirs is my current favourite, so I’ll add a few below for you to check out.
Some designs by Jakke are certainly more suited to those with bold personal style. I tend to gravitate towards neutral tones, or black (with the occasional splash of pink), but if you’re into bright colours, or patterns, then this brand will suit you down to a T. Even if, like me, you’re like more laidback colours and tones, they’ve still got you covered.
Amelia Jane London
Thinking of purchasing a beanie this winter? Of course you are! They’re a winter essential. For faux pom pom hats, look no further than Amelia Jane London. Founded by blogging super sisters Olivia and Alice, who’s personal style I am crushing on big time, this brand will fulfil all of your pom pom and faux fur requirements.
Pop a black fluffy beanie on, with some straight leg white jeans, a monochrome white patterned jumper, a black chunky scarf and chunky double sole Dr Marten boots - I’m loving my Sinclair pair.
Obviously alongside these independent brands, you can find some great faux fur numbers on the high street or online. I’ve listed some of those below for you to look at too.
Stay warm this winter! Let me know in the comments below if you can think of any other faux fur purveyors I should be checking out.
