5 ‘Influencers’ That Will Make You Feel Good

5 ‘Influencers’ You Should Follow That Will Make You Feel Good

This article was originally published in Sunday.Onl

With quarantine comes mindless scrolling. We may try to fight it by baking banana bread, enrolling in online yoga classes, or trying out a new makeup look, but ultimately the device in our hand is a portal to content that frees us from boredom and takes us to places other than our own houses.

Scrolling can come with its own set of demons – that familiar feeling that clouds you of being inadequate. Not ‘slim’ enough, not ‘productive’ enough. It’s tiresome, and in troubling times, nobody needs it. That’s why I'm going to tell you about 5 girls that you should be following on Instagram that will make you feel great about yourself. Girls whose energy, passion and outlook on life we need right now.

So, unfollow the bloggers making you feel bad and start injecting some fun, colour, and self-love into your feed.

Emma Hoareau @emmahoareau

Skincare guru Emma grew up in Paris, and exudes effortless style and sophistication. She’s a body positivity advocate, girl-next-door, best-friend-in-waiting that you’d just love to grab coffee with. Her flat is decorated with vintage pieces, and her wardrobe is packed full of jeans, cardigans and silk skirts I would love to get my hands on. If you’re new to the world of skincare and beauty, make sure to check out Emma’s ‘Sunday School’ series on Instagram and learn about everything from acids and acne to why SPF is so important.

Francesca Perks @francescaperks

Francesca is a ray of light in the world of Instagram. She’s fun, honest and real. Her outfits are colourful, comfy and down-right cute and I love how transparent she is about brand deals and ads. Gals gotta make a living, and we’re absolutely here for Fran living out her blogger dreams, and inspiring us all to purchase 40 pastel-toned scrunchies while she’s at it. Not only are her outfits perfect for some work from home inspiration, but her flat is also interior goals, with mid-century style pieces and mustard colour pops a-plenty.

Bianca Hill @biancaehill

Where do I start with Bianca? Let’s begin with her makeup looks. In a sentence - they are great. Her individual take on Dua Lipa’s colourful monochrome makeup looks literally blessed my feed. And her outfits? They’re a fresh spin on feminine streetwear featuring a helping of Ganni pieces (which I obviously love). If you want somebody that is down-to-earth, posts amazing eye shadow looks and even created her own hashtag devoted specifically to baked goods, enter: #croissantent, then give her a follow.

Jazmine Rogers @thatcurlytop

Ethical fashion fan and sustainability advocate Jazmine’s account is natural and colourful. I really enjoy reading her thought-provoking captions on her relationship with sustainability and slow-living, as well as her approach to it as an ever-learning process. Much more than just a fashion blogger, her content also covers food, beauty, mental wellness and the often-confusing world of ethical influencing.

If you feel your feed is overwhelmed by fast-fashion wearing bloggers/influencers, make sure to follow Jazmin to inject some realism and sustainability onto your timeline!

Boobie Billie @boobiebillie

Ok so I’ve sneaked this one in here... Boobie isn’t even human, but she is a girl, so I'm going to allow it. Boobie is the influencer of 2020 – yep, I'm calling it. She’s taken the fashion world by storm. An Italian greyhuahu, Billie is an Italian greyhound, chihuahua cross. Aka adorable and tiny. Her handbag collection is also better than our entire wardrobe, featuring Jacquemus and Susan Alexandra micro-bags. Currently, Boobie is providing us with some real work from home outfit inspo, and quite frankly is our daily inspiration. If that’s not convincing you to follow her I don’t know what will.
